H.R. 1 (the One Big Beautiful Bill Act) empowers everyday donors to support school choice and education for kids — Scholar Street is the engine to make it happen.
A technology platform purpose-built on Salesforce streamlines donor contributions, applications, and SGO administration — end to end.
Our platform is built to scale and adapt as the federal EFTC program rolls out state by state — designed for growth from day one.
Our founders currently serve without compensation, and low administrative overhead means more of every dollar reaches students.
A tax-credit scholarship program lives or dies on how much of each dollar actually reaches a student. Two choices drive ours.
Neither co-founder currently draws a salary from Scholar Street. Every dollar that would otherwise fund executive pay stays in the scholarship pool.
Donor management, application intake, eligibility review, and compliance reporting run on one integrated system — so growth does not require a proportional growth in staff.
Organized to operate as a Scholarship Granting Organization under §25F, Scholar Street is built on a rigorous compliance framework. Families trust us with sensitive information. Donors trust us with their contributions. We honor both responsibilities.
Scholarship recipients are selected by an Independent Scholarship Selection Committee that operates outside Scholar Street’s Board of Directors. The Board sets policy and raises funds. The Committee reviews applications and makes awards against published criteria: financial need and academic merit. Donors may designate the community their gift serves, but never the individual recipient.
We operate as a Scholarship Granting Organization under the Education Freedom Tax Credit provisions of the Internal Revenue Code, including the federal requirement that at least 90% of income fund scholarships — measured separately for each state in which we are listed.
Income determination procedures consistent with current HUD Median Family Income data, with Treasury and IRS guidance under §25F monitored as it develops.
Every application, eligibility determination, award decision, and disbursement is documented and retained in accordance with federal recordkeeping requirements.
Each donor receives a formal written §25F acknowledgment containing the information required to claim the Education Freedom Tax Credit on their federal return.
Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, or disability, and determined solely by published eligibility criteria.
Scholar Street operates independently, free of any outside affiliation or agenda, with founders focused solely on expanding access for all eligible students.
